The car’s story
The Aston Martin DB7 Zagato was unveiled at the 2002 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Like earlier models bearing the Zagato name, it was a joint project between the English carmaker and the Italian coachbuilder. The first production DB7 Zagato, priced at more than €255,000, rolled off the line in April 2003.
Compared with the standard DB7, it had an entirely redesigned, lighter aluminium body with room for only two people. Revised engine settings increased output from 420 to 435 hp at 6,000 rpm. The weight reduction substantially improved agility and driving performance. The DB7 Zagato’s top speed was around 300 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h took 4.9 seconds.
