The car’s story
The Bucciali TAV3 8-32 was unveiled at the 1932 Paris Motor Show and was the only example built. Experts and the press praised it highly, but adverse economic conditions prevented production from being established and forced the Bucciali brothers to close the company.
The front-wheel-drive TAV3 8-32 featured a continuously variable transmission, rubber cushions in the rear suspension and electromechanical brake actuation. TAV stands for Traction Avant, meaning front-wheel drive. One of its designers, Paul-Alberto Bucciali, held numerous patents; his developments were later used in Citroën cars and American all-terrain vehicles during the Second World War.
