The car’s story
The 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is jokingly called a Coca-Cola bottle. It largely earned that nickname through its popularity and the number built at Chevrolet’s St Louis plant: 542,861. This scale model represents the third-generation Corvette, produced until 1983.
The body was glassfibre. Under the bonnet was a 16-valve, 5,735 cc V8 producing 200 hp at 4,200 rpm and 386 Nm at 2,800 rpm. Top speed was limited to 245 km/h and acceleration to 100 km/h took 7.2 seconds.
