The car’s story
The ErAZ-762V represented by this scale model was built at the Yerevan Automobile Plant from 1979 to 1995. It was the third generation, externally almost indistinguishable from the 1966 vehicles. A milestone came in 1975, when a then-modern 1.7 km assembly line was installed, raising capacity to 10,000 vehicles annually.
The ErAZ-762 was not an independent design: an improved RAF-977D body was combined with GAZ-21 Volga running gear. More modern GAZ-24 engines were adopted later. Payload reached 1,150 kg, maximum speed 110 km/h and average consumption 12 litres per 100 km.
