The car’s story
The Ferrari 250 California was developed specifically for wealthy North American buyers. It featured deeply recessed headlights under Plexiglas fairings and rear lights set at an angle on small fins. Buyers could choose the bumper design and the position of the fuel-filler flap.
The Pininfarina-designed car was shown in 1957, with bodywork produced by Scaglietti in Modena. A total of 104 cars were assembled by 1963. The convertible had a three-litre engine producing 240 hp. The Ferrari 250 California reached a top speed of 253 km/h.
