The car’s story
The Ferrari 250 series, especially the GT models, created the famous Prancing Horse legend. The 1964 car gained the letter O for omologata, Italian for ‘approved’. All seven cars built differed slightly, particularly in appearance. Pininfarina specialists worked on the coupé’s main elements. The design emphasised its sporting character, increased downforce and provided track stability.
The front-engined, rear-wheel-drive 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO used a 2,953 cc V12 producing 240 hp at 7,400 rpm. At 950 kg, its maximum speed did not exceed 280 km/h.
