The car’s story
The Ferrari 250 P’s greatest achievement was victory in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1963, its only appearance in that event. Other important successes included the Nürburgring 1000 km and the international GT prototype championship.
Pininfarina designed the car. Four examples were built, all with the engine ahead of the rear axle. The 2,953 cc V12 produced 300–310 hp at 7,800 rpm, fed by six Weber 38 DCN carburettors. Top speed was around 290 km/h.
