Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari unveiled the 458 Italia in Frankfurt in 2009. Pininfarina designed the two-seat coupé. It continued the legendary line of 308 GT (1975), 328 GTB (1985), 348 TB (1989), F355 (1994), 360 Modena (1999) and F430 (2004). Many details favoured aesthetics over a purely functional approach.

Its 4,499 cc V8 produced 570 PS at 9,000 rpm. The 12.5:1 compression ratio was comparable to Formula One engines. The rear-wheel-drive coupé had a rear-mounted seven-speed gearbox and low-profile tyres on 20-inch alloy wheels. Weighing 1,380 kg, it reached 325 km/h and accelerated to 100 km/h in no more than 4.4 seconds.
