The car’s story
The Fiat Nuova Balilla 1100 was introduced in 1937. It was an updated version of the 508 Balilla, though it closely resembled the 500 Topolino. The attractive car had a heart-shaped radiator grille, typical of the 1930s, which was later changed.
The Fiat 1100 featured a 1,089 cc four-cylinder engine, a four-speed gearbox, rear-wheel drive and independent front suspension. Together these provided good performance, handling and comfort for both driver and passengers.
