Ford Mustang GT Convertible 1989

This scale model represents the third-generation Ford Mustang, produced from 1979 to 1993. A 1987 facelift particularly changed the car’s front end.

Enthusiasts divide this generation into two periods: “foureyes” through 1986 and “aeronoses”, with the aerodynamic front end, through 1993.

New-Ray’s Ford Mustang GT Convertible model is very poor in quality. It hardly deserves to be called a scale model and is closer to a toy. Nevertheless, with no 1989 Mustang offered by other manufacturers, it found a place in my collection. The body is distorted, especially noticeable in the curved windscreen, and even the few separate body fittings are assembled unprofessionally.
