Ford Mustang GT 2005

The iconic 2005 Ford Mustang GT coupé generated unprecedented demand in the American market. Its sensible, affordable price helped Ford sell around 150,000 cars in the first year.

The styling was striking and distinctive. The GT version had a 4.6-litre V8 producing 300 hp. It was an excellent engine, and weight savings achieved through modern materials significantly improved performance. In my view, the only area still needing work was the cabin, where restrained simplicity and functionality prevailed.

As for the De Agostini scale model, it had already been used at least ten times in IXO Models’ regular range and other European magazine series. Its appearance closely matches the real Ford Mustang GT, and the paintwork is excellent.
