The car’s story
The Ferrari F2003-GA Formula One car replaced the F2002 at the fifth round of the 2003 championship in Spain. Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello drove for the team that year. Schumacher became world champion with 158 points in the drivers’ standings, while the team won the Constructors’ Championship.
Schumacher won seven races during the season, secured five pole positions and set the fastest race lap five times. The car received the “GA” designation as a tribute to the memory of Gianni Agnelli.
The car used a naturally aspirated 3-litre Ferrari 052 V10 engine. Its semi-automatic transmission, also developed by Ferrari, had seven forward gears plus reverse. Total weight did not exceed 600 kg, including the driver and fluids. The team used Shell fuel and Bridgestone Potenza tyres.
