GAZ-21R Volga ROMZ pickup (canvas cover)

Pickups based on the GAZ-21 Volga saloon were intended for delivering food, goods and luggage, as well as for the needs of the repair plants that built them, usually from retired taxis.

The pickup differed from the canvas-covered version in having a removable metal roof fitted into slots and secured in place. According to the author, none had survived by the time of writing: these were typical workhorses, and their owners did not spare them.
