GAZ-3102

The GAZ-3102 effectively succeeded the GAZ-24, but introduced numerous improvements. The interior was almost completely renewed, with height-adjustable front seats, a heated rear window and ventilation for the side windows. Rear passengers gained an armrest, while all seats were upholstered in velour. The polyurethane-foam dashboard had a wood-effect finish. Instead of simply lying in the boot, the spare wheel now occupied a dedicated recess beneath its floor.

The car also received new tyres. Outdated cross-ply tyres were replaced with low-profile 205/70 R14 radials. The designers substantially revised the front suspension, widening the front track and increasing the kingpin angles; the kingpins form the steering pivot axes of the front wheels.
