The car’s story
Modular ambulances based on the GAZelle 3302 appeared in 1994. They were used out of necessity: their low price made them affordable, but came with harsh suspension, a thirsty engine and poor reliability.
Production of all-metal GAZ-32214 minibuses began in 1996, providing a basis for more modern ambulances. These fall into three classes: A for patient transport, B for emergency care and C for intensive care.
Where possible, they are replaced with longer-lasting imported vehicles. Kyiv mainly chose Ford, while private clinics never used GAZelles at all.
