The car’s story

VMM released this GAZ M-20 Pobeda police model as the car from the film Moonshiners. It represents a real 1955 vehicle. Its main differences from civilian versions are the blue body with a red stripe and a warning lamp on the roof. A searchlight and loudspeaker were sometimes also fitted to the roof.

These cars were sometimes nicknamed “crayfish tails”. Law enforcement mainly used them for street patrols and occasionally for pursuits.
