GAZ-M415 pickup

The GAZ-M415 was a light commercial version of the GAZ-M1. Building the pickup required cutting down the base car’s body, retaining only the complete front section and front half of the cabin, together with the frame and running gear. The cab was sealed with welded panels behind the driver.

It could carry up to 500 kg of cargo or passengers of an equivalent total weight. Two folding benches in the load bed comfortably accommodated up to six people. The load compartment was mounted to the frame separately from the cab.

Just under five thousand pickups were built between 1939 and 1941. Most went to the army and were destroyed in the first months of the war.
