The car’s story
The scale model of the 1938 Horch 853A Cabriolet represents the real cars produced by Horch from 1936 to 1939. At the time, Horch belonged to Auto Union alongside Audi, DKW and Wanderer, a group established in 1932. Horch specialised in prestigious cars with eight- and twelve-cylinder engines.
One such model was the sporting Horch 853A, with a five-litre engine producing 120 hp. It had a strong frame with a central X-shaped crossmember and independent suspension on all wheels.
An equivalent of this scale model was released in IXO’s museum series under catalogue number MUS011.
