The car’s story
Thanks to engineer Gian Paolo Dallara’s work, the updated Lamborghini Countach LP400S entered production in 1978. It was distinguished by an air intake beneath the front bumper, a V-shaped rear spoiler and enlarged wheel arches accommodating wider Pirelli P7 tyres.
The new spoiler improved high-speed stability but worsened aerodynamics, reducing top speed by 15 km/h. The additional components added 50 kg and also increased acceleration times. The LP400S engine received minor technical revisions. A total of 237 examples were assembled.
