The car’s story
Production of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder convertible began in 2006. The car was presented at the Los Angeles motor show. Its design was developed by Lamborghini’s styling centre, Lamborghini Centro Style, unlike the standard coupé, which was created by Italdesign. The convertible also received reinforced sills and windscreen pillars.
The available colour palette expanded with two new shades: light blue Celeste Phoebe and green Verde Picus. A camera on the rear spoiler and wheels with a coloured Lamborghini logo were added to the options list.
The Gallardo Spyder received an updated 520 hp engine and a modified gearbox. Its suspension and steering settings were also revised. With the roof raised, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 314 km/h. With the roof down, maximum speed is 307 km/h. The Gallardo Spyder cost only 12% more than the coupé.
