Mercedes-Benz 280C Coupé 1972

The first two-door Mercedes-Benz W114 cars with five-seat hardtop coupé bodies went on sale in 1969. The full-size 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280C Coupé used a 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine. By 1976, 24,669 cars had been built in this specification.

Compared with earlier Mercedes-Benz models, the 280C Coupé introduced Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and a centre console in the cabin. At the time of the original text, the car remained highly sought after by vintage-car collectors and admirers of the legendary German marque.
