The car’s story
The three-litre Mercedes-Benz 300 CE-24 Coupe was first presented in 1989. It continued the W124 coupe line, which had replaced the classic W123 in 1984. Styling changes included body-coloured mirrors, additional mouldings and chrome trim on the door handles, windscreen and rear window. More wood was used inside, and the seats were replaced with more luxurious and comfortable ones.
The 300 CE-24 used the 2,962 cc M104 petrol engine with four valves per cylinder and 220 hp. The coupe became the most popular model in the series and reached 236 km/h. Standard equipment also included alloy wheels, electric windows, leather on the steering wheel and gear lever, burr-walnut inserts and panels, and lights that illuminated when the doors were opened.
