The car’s story
The boxy G500 appeared in September 1997 as a 1998 model-year vehicle. It was unveiled at the International Off-Road and Four-Wheel-Drive Vehicle Exhibition in Munich. The body-series designation remained W463.
The improved 5.5-litre V8 produced 388 hp and 530 Nm. Without opening the bonnet, the updated car could be distinguished only by its steering-wheel buttons, revised dashboard switch layout and more informative instrument display.
The 1:43 scale model is well detailed. The paint is even, and interior components are coloured to match the original cabin. Autoart’s Mercedes-Benz G500 model has steerable front wheels.
