Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG 2008

The Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG was first shown in Frankfurt after the second-generation W164 M-Class debuted in Detroit in 2005. This sporty SUV uses a 6.2-litre petrol V8 producing 510 hp at 6,800 rpm.

Torque is 630 Nm at 5,200 rpm. It also has an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive with a 40:60 front-to-rear torque split.

The AMG differs from the standard model through wider wings, steel running boards, a revised grille, a sports exhaust with twin chrome outlets, five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels with 295/45 tyres and other upgrades. It reaches 100 km/h in under five seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. The 95-litre tank does not last long, as urban consumption reaches 25 litres.
