The car’s story
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class 463 series, introduced in 1990, was updated in 1994. The letter G abbreviates the German Geländewagen, meaning an off-road vehicle.
The revised vehicle gained an immobiliser, central locking and ventilated front disc brakes.
The G500 also had permanent four-wheel drive and three locking differentials. It used the five-litre M113E50 V8, producing 296 hp and maximum torque of 456 Nm.
