The car’s story
The real car was produced at the Moscow Small Car Plant (MZMA, later AZLK). The model entered production in 1958. The Moskvitch-407 was the result of a thorough modernisation of the Moskvitch-402. Their main difference was the engine: the 407 received a new overhead-valve engine producing 45 hp.
A total of 359,980 Moskvitch 407 cars were built, the last of which left the production line in October 1963.
