The car’s story

In The Diamond Arm, the Moskvich 408 belonged to the smugglers' boss, played by Nikolai Romanov. The car suspended beneath a helicopter at the end echoes a scene from the James Bond film You Only Live Twice.

At the time, in 1968, the Moskvich-408 was the newest model in the Soviet car industry. The miniature is very highly detailed. Only the roof rack detracts from the overall impression. According to the manufacturer, making it more realistic with the available production process would have significantly increased the model's price.
