The car’s story
The Oldsmobile Super 88 was the luxury version of the Oldsmobile 88. In the early 1950s, the company began adding words to the two-digit designation to identify trim levels and body styles. The simpler base version was called the Dynamic 88. Remarkably, the 88 series remained in production for 50 years, from 1949 to 1999.
Oldsmobile cars, produced by a division of General Motors, were assembled in Wentzville, Missouri, and in Flint and Lake Orion, Michigan.
