Panhard 6CS 1935

The full-size Panhard 6CS is a great rarity for collectors. It is also known as the Panhard & Levassor 6CS X72 ‘Panoramique’. A distinctive body feature was the additional small windows at the edges of the windscreen.

The car is fitted with a 2,516 cc six-cylinder valveless diesel engine and a four-speed gearbox. The original description dates Panhard & Levassor’s acquisition of a licence for these engines to the early 19th century. They had to be abandoned in the late 1930s because excessive loads on the valve-timing mechanism rendered them inoperable.
