The car’s story

The Start minibus from VMM’s limited series reproduces the vehicle used in filming The Caucasian Captive. The model is made of resin in 1:43 scale. The real Start was manufactured by a vehicle repair enterprise using components and assemblies from the GAZ-21 Volga.

Its interior could accommodate up to 12 people, allowing the minibus to serve as a taxi. No examples have survived in decent condition, as the Start’s body was made of fibreglass. The Start minibus was produced in 1964–1965.
