The car’s story
The off-road vehicle from the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is considered a classic Soviet all-terrain car. Mass production of the UAZ-469 began in 1972. The 469B version lacked wheel reduction gears on its axles and was intended for everyday use rather than the military.
The vehicle was indispensable beyond the army. It was widely used in villages, by the police, ambulance and other emergency services, and in construction. However, it was simply unavailable to private buyers on the open market.
