Volga GAZ21 Taxi The Diamond Arm

Director Leonid Gaidai liked featuring the Volga 21 in his films. In The Diamond Arm, however, it takes a supporting role and appears in an unusual context. Most often, the GAZ-21 is seen as a taxi.

It is also used by law enforcement and smugglers.

Lyolik demonstrates the merits of Soviet car manufacturing: while quoting Tyutchev's poetry, he twice jerks the steering wheel with tyres squealing, trying to throw the car off course. Yet it passes the lane-change test, also known as the moose test, with flying colours.
