The car’s story
The Ferrari F50 sports car debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1995, with styling by Pininfarina. Its centrepiece is a 4.698-litre twelve-cylinder engine with five valves per cylinder, producing 520 hp at 8,500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 3.87 seconds.
Notable details include five-spoke Speedline wheels secured by a single nut, as in Formula 1, and Goodyear tyres. The roof can be removed to turn the car into a roadster, and the body is made from composite materials. Ferrari F50 production was suspended in January 1998.
