GAZ-3102 Volga — Auto Legends of the USSR

The GAZ-3102 was designed as the third Volga family, intended to occupy the prestige-car segment rather than replace the GAZ-24 outright. The first running prototypes of the 3101 appeared in the mid-1970s, but after the 4,250 cc V-engine was dropped in favour of a more economical unit, the model designation changed to 3102. Preparations for series production began in 1982, and the last cars of the third series left the assembly line in 2009.

The executive saloon was fitted with a ZMZ-4022.10 four-stroke, carburetted inline four-cylinder engine. With a displacement of 2,445 cc, it produced 105 hp at 4,750 rpm, allowing a top speed of 152 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 16.2 seconds.
