The car’s story
The production Jaguar XK Coupe X150 was officially unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new grand tourer was developed from the Advanced Lightweight Coupe prototype under Ian Callum’s direction. It succeeded the X100-generation XK. Jaguar introduced the XK as a rival to the Porsche 911, Mercedes CLK and BMW 6 Series, giving it greater elegance and power.
The standard engine was flexible and free-revving. Its 32-valve, 4,192 cc V8 delivered 300 hp at 6,000 rpm. Peak torque reached 411 Nm at 4,100 rpm, while top speed was electronically limited to 250 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h took 6.2 seconds.
