Lagonda LG6 Drophead Coupe 1938

In 1937, Lagonda, a maker of expensive and popular cars, presented its most luxurious coupé at the London Motor Show. The Lagonda LG6, whose design involved W. O. Bentley, entered production in 1938 and was highly advanced for its time. The coupé used an X-shaped frame, independent torsion-bar suspension, hydraulic brakes and a four-speed gearbox mounted separately from the engine.

The most interesting feature of the Lagonda LG6 Drophead Coupe was its 4.5-litre V12. It produced 175 hp, enabling a top speed of 100 mph and acceleration to 100 km/h in 14 seconds. Around two thousand examples of the LG6 were built in total.
