The car’s story
The SU-122 has 45 mm armour on the hull sides, front and rear and 20 mm on the roof and belly. The first prototype was completed on 30 November 1942 at the Ural Heavy Machine-Building Plant, Uralmash. Series production began in December 1942.
Engine: V-2: liquid-cooled four-stroke V12 diesel, 38880 cc; 400 PS at 1700 rpm.
Crew: 5; combat weight: 29.6 tonnes. Maximum speed: 55 km/h; range: 300 km.
Main armament: A 122 mm M-30 model 1938 howitzer.
Ammunition: 40 rounds.
