The car’s story
The KV-2 has 75 mm armour on the hull front and sides, 60–75 mm at the rear, 30–40 mm on the belly and roof and 75 mm on the turret. It is a variant of the KV-1; KV stands for Kliment Voroshilov. Series production began in 1940 at the Leningrad Kirov Plant.
Engine: V-2K: liquid-cooled four-stroke V12 diesel, 38880 cc; 500 PS at 1800 rpm.
Crew: 6; combat weight: 52 tonnes. Maximum speed: 34 km/h; range: 250 km.
Main armament: A 152 mm M-10 model 1938 howitzer; two 7.62 mm DT model 1929 machine guns.
Ammunition: 36 gun rounds; 3,087 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
