T-26-39 tank

The T-26-39 replaced the formerly successful T-26 tank. Factory No. 174 documents called it the T-26-1. It gained a turret-supporting hull section with sloped armour plates, and some vehicles received compasses for driving without visibility.

The light T-26-39 had 15 mm armour on the hull sides, front and rear, 10 mm on the roof, 6 mm on the floor and 6–15 mm on the turret.

The 1933-model T-26-39 used a four-cylinder carburetted inline T-26 engine with horizontally arranged cylinders. This air-cooled Armstrong Siddeley-type engine displaced 6,600 cc and produced 90 hp at 2,100 rpm.

Crew: 3; combat weight: 10.25 tonnes. Maximum speed: 30 km/h on roads and 18 km/h cross-country. Main armament: a 45 mm 20K gun of the 1934 model and three 7.62 mm DT machine guns of the 1929 model.

Ammunition without a radio: 186 gun rounds and 3,528 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition; with a radio: 165 gun rounds and 3,087 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
