The car’s story
The T-28 has 30 mm frontal armour, 10 mm belly armour, 20 mm on the sides and rear and around 20 mm on the turrets. This three-turret tank was developed by the VOAO Tank and Tractor Design Bureau under S. A. Ginzburg in 1930–1932. The first batch was assembled in 1933 at the Leningrad Kirov Plant, Krasny Putilovets; around 503 were built by 1940.
Engine: M-17L: liquid-cooled carburetted V12, 46,920 cc, producing 450 PS at 1,400 rpm.
Crew: 6; combat weight: 27.8 tonnes. Maximum speed: 45 km/h; range: 220 km.
Main armament: A 76 mm L-10 gun; four 7.62 mm DT machine guns.
Ammunition: 69 gun rounds; 7,938 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
