The car’s story

The T-34-42 has 45 mm armour on the hull sides, front and rear, 15–20 mm on the roof and belly, and around 45 mm rolled or 52 mm cast turret armour. Tanks built from 1942 onwards featured automatic submerged-arc welding developed by Y. O. Paton. Production continued at Plant No. 183 after its evacuation from Kharkiv to the Ural Tank Plant site in Nizhny Tagil.

Engine: V-2: liquid-cooled four-stroke V12 diesel, 38880 cc; 400 PS at 1700 rpm.

Crew: 4; combat weight: 30.9 tonnes. Maximum speed: 55 km/h; range: 300 km.

Main armament: One 76 mm F-34 model 1940 gun; two 7.62 mm DT model 1929 machine guns.

Ammunition: 100 gun rounds; 3,150 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
