The car’s story
The T-62 has 80 mm side armour, 100 mm frontal hull armour and 242 mm turret armour. Series production began at Uralvagonzavod in July 1962. More than twenty thousand T-62s were built over ten years.
Engine: V-55V: liquid-cooled four-stroke V12 diesel, 38880 cc; 580 PS at 2000 rpm.
Crew: 4; combat weight: 37 tonnes. Maximum speed: 50 km/h; range: 450 km.
Main armament: A 115 mm 2A20 (U-5TS) gun; a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.
Ammunition: 40 gun rounds; 2,500 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
