Volga GAZ-2402

The 24-series estate was designed alongside the saloon, with the necessary provisions built into the platform from the outset. The design allowed three rows of seats, with the third row between the wheel arches.

The GAZ-24-02 was popular with state organisations, vehicle fleets and foreign buyers. Only limited numbers were sold to Soviet citizens. The first two cars left the line in 1969. Unlike later production examples, they lacked the rear roof deflector that extracted cabin air and helped keep the tailgate clean.
