Revell was founded in California, USA, in 1943. It initially produced a wide range of plastic and cast models of cars, aircraft, ships and military vehicles. The company was later sold to Monogram, but the Revell brand remained the principal focus thanks to its popularity and recognition among enthusiasts.
In the 1960s, Revell entered the market for H0-scale (1:87) railway models and collectors' accessories. The range included locomotives, buildings, model cars, complete farms, suburban passenger and freight stations, and other service buildings.
