The car’s story
The 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 followed its predecessor, the 365 GTB, mechanically but offered far greater comfort. Its engine, detuned to 320 hp, ran better, the pedals were lighter and a 15 cm longer wheelbase provided more interior space.
Only 493 were built over two years, with most sold in the United States.
A 4,390 cc V12 was fitted to a Daytona chassis beneath Pininfarina bodywork. Six Weber carburettors sat under the bonnet. The 2+2-seater used ventilated brake discs from the Daytona, while air conditioning, rear suspension and power steering came from the 365 GT4 2+2. Pop-up headlights and five-spoke Cromodora alloy wheels were distinctive features.
