The car’s story

Ferrari Enzo production began in 2003, its name honouring company founder Enzo Ferrari. It continued the line of legendary 288 GTO, F40 and F50 models. By the end of production in 2004, 399 cars had been built. Racing driver Michael Schumacher advised the engineers on engine and suspension development.

Carbon fibre was used extensively in the Enzo’s body and chassis. The two-seat, two-door car had rear-wheel drive and a top speed of around 350 km/h. Its 5,998 cc V12 was mounted longitudinally in a rear-mid-engine position. Peak power of 660 hp arrived at 7,800 rpm—an impressive 110 hp per litre. The electronic accelerator provided optimum torque, peaking at 67 kgf·m at 5,500 rpm. The Enzo had a six-speed sequential gearbox with steering-wheel shift buttons.
