GAZ-69 Auto Legends of the USSR

The GAZ-69 can fairly be called the first true Russian jeep. Its design began at the Gorky Automobile Plant in 1946. Most parts and components were shared with existing trucks and passenger cars, allowing production to be established quickly.

The GAZ-69 entered production in 1953 and received its first update in 1956. During that period, 16,382 jeeps were built.

With 210 mm of ground clearance and outstanding off-road ability, it became a mainstay for the military, agricultural workers and builders. It had eight seats, a 2.120-litre engine producing 52 hp and a top speed of 90 km/h.
