Lamborghini Countach 5000QV

In 1985 the Lamborghini Countach underwent its most extensive update since 1971. The supercar received a revised 5.2-litre (5,167 cc) V12 with four valves per cylinder, or quattrovalvole in Italian. The resulting 48-valve engine produced 455 hp. Without altering the aerodynamics, this raised top speed to 290 km/h. The car received the designation 5000QV, with a drag coefficient no greater than 0.4.

Some Countach 5000QV body panels, including the bonnet and luggage lid, were replaced with Kevlar parts. To improve the engine’s air supply, the carburettors were placed above it rather than at the sides as before. Some cars, however, were already equipped with fuel injection.
