Moskvich 408 (Single Round Headlights)

Designers tested and adopted many interesting solutions on the Moskvich-408. For the first time in the Soviet car industry, synthetic trim materials replaced natural ones. The fuel filler was hidden behind the rear number plate.

It also introduced white reversing lights to MZMA cars, along with a new K-126 carburettor and distinctive air-filter housing.

Other details included the Moskvich script on the glovebox lid and a frosted acrylic interior-light cover that blended neatly into the cabin design. Owners could adjust ignition timing themselves by changing the distributor position, affecting fuel consumption and performance.
