The car’s story

The first Škoda Superbs left the production line in 1934 and were built until 1940, during the early part of the Second World War. Production resumed in 1946, and the Superb was finally discontinued in 1949. The Superb was the first executive-class model that Škoda chose to manufacture in-house.

In 1936, the original model was updated and given the factory designation Type 913. This was already the Superb’s third generation. It used a powerful 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine producing 80 hp. Remarkably, the main body framework was wooden, clad in sheet steel. A sedan, a soft-top coupé and a ‘salon’ version were available. During production of the Škoda Superb Type 913 from 1936 to 1939, 350 cars were assembled.
